One Brick Short of a Load

At lunch time Mom and I went for a walk around the block and various subdvision roads.

As we turned down the one stretch Mom mentioned our need to find some bricks to elevate our one tall box-like shelf in the garage. Everytime the car comes in the garage with snow on it melts and the water runs to the sides of the garage instead of out the garage door and so affects anything made with wood.

Well, Mom's wish came as we approached this newly built house of a Mennonite family. The father was cleaning up some of the debris on his property and we could easily see a whole pile of bricks. Knowing in life that if you don't ask you don't get I spoke up and asked if he would still be needing the bricks on his property. He said "no" and we were welcome to take as many as we wanted. We only needed 3 of them.

So we walked on the very sandy soil on the property towards the bricks and felt our running shoes sinking into the sandy mud.

When we got home we knew we had to capture the memory of our sandy-soiled running shoes and our 3 bricks.

Sandy-mud running shoes AND the 3 Bricks
The bricks are now nicley placed under our shelf. Mission accomplished.
