Delayed

OK. So we arrived on time near the Detroit airport. We parked the car and then approached the Frontier check-in counter. We were hearing word that our flight was delayed - then that the plane had been struck by lightning while on the ground. We were supposed to leave at 4:10pm - but we didn't leave until almost 10pm.
The realities of not being able to make our connecting flight...and then not being able to attend meetings I had on Friday...slowly sunk in for both of us.

While this was weather related in reason they initially told us we would not receive any remuneration. But by the time we were ready to depart we received a coupon for overnight hotel stay, dinner and breakfast coupons, as well as $100 each for future flights.

When the new plane finally arrived all the passengers clapped - even when we were told there was only one lavatory functioning on the plane.

It was around 1:00am MST when we arrived in Denver and got to the Days Inn there. We were dead tired and glad to get to bed.

So we slept in until 8:00am before getting up and catching the breakfast before boarding the hotel shutttle to head on with our journey.
The Denver International Airport has a unique roof cover giving the appearance of a big top circus tent.

And then we were there...and saw the Frontier aircraft.
One of the things good about Frontier is shortly before you land they bake up some fresh chocolate chip cookies. Mom really enjoyed them!

Now we are finally in San Antnio, Texas!

And I have to say I laughed pretty hard at the whole "slept in til *8:00am* part. That's not a sleep in!! Especially when you went to bed at 1am!! haha.. silly in-laws. ;)
